For the Support Worker role, we specifically seek candidates with the following qualifications:
- Certificate III in Individualised Support (Disability) or an equivalent qualification.
- DHS Disability Employment Services Screening.
- DHS Working With Children Check or a Child-related Clearance.
- First Aid Certificate and CPR training.
- Child Safe Environments Certificate.
- Manual Handling Certificate.
- Medication, Midazolam, and Epilepsy training.

All staff members must acquire and uphold the following credentials as part of their employment:
- DHS Working with Children Check (formerly known as Child Related Clearance)
- DHS Disability Employment Services Screening
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Child Safe Environment Certificate (where applicable to the role)
These checks and training requirements should be completed before your start date and maintained throughout your employment, as they may need to be periodically renewed.
4. Will I need to do shift work?
The specific work hours depend on the role you are assigned to. For example, positions like support work may involve shift work with varying shift times, including early mornings, daytime shifts, afternoon shifts, and sleepover shifts. Shifts can also encompass weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. We will provide more details during the selection process, but being open to a wide range of shifts will enable us to offer you more hours and flexibility.
5. What do I do in my first few shifts?
You will be an integral part of our ‘getting started’ onboarding process, carefully designed to set you up for success in your new role. This comprehensive process encompasses several key components, including:
- Engaging in our online training program.
- Undertaking ‘shadow’ shifts within your designated work location(s).
- Receiving orientation and guidance from your Team Leader, as well as learning from other experienced colleagues.
Through this structured onboarding, we aim to provide you with the best possible foundation for your new position.

SA Supportive DCare specializes in providing social and recreational activities, life skills training, and personal assistance, either one-on-one or in small group settings at locations convenient for our clients. By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, contributing to their well-being, exploring opportunities, and supporting their individual goals.
Reporting to the Team Leader, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Being an effective role model for clients and adhering to relevant standards, codes, policies, and procedures.
- Assisting clients with their personal healthcare and mobility needs.
- Administering medication and performing other healthcare interventions.
- Promoting a positive image of clients within the community.
What you’ll need:
- Willingness to learn new skills on the job, with a Certificate III in Individual Support being advantageous (students are welcome).
- A passion for health and safety demonstrated through the maintenance of Senior First Aid, CPR, and Child Safe Environments for Children & Young People certifications.
- NDIS Worker Check and Working With Children Check.
- COVID-19 Vaccination Status, including booster evidence or approved Medical Exemption.
